The thread of the route: Kiev-Paris-Casablanca-Paris-Kiev - all flights by Air France. Which has no complaints. Everything is on time, the planes are new, the food on board is good, the portions are plentiful, the stewards are friendly.
Casablanca (transit - by train from the airport) - Rabat - Fes - (by train from Rabat) Marrakesh - (by train from Fez) Agadir - (by STM bus from Marrakech) Essaouira (by bus from Agadir) - Casablanca ( by bus to Marrakech, from Marrakech by train to Casablanca).
Morocco is one of the most beautiful and mystical, attractive and colorful countries in the world. An ancient kingdom in northern Africa. It has a unique fairy tale atmosphere. It gives its guests an ocean of amazing vivid impressions, emotions, sensations and memories.
My first acquaintance with the African continent, with the Atlantic Ocean, the Atlas Mountains happened in Morocco. In this surprisingly beautiful country, I saw how and where our Ukrainian cranes winter. They nest in the central part of the country, mainly on the roofs of minarets. Sometimes it was possible to see nests, even on mob towers. connections. Moroccans also love and do not offend these amazing birds.
And I was also lucky to enjoy the sight (and eating) of juicy, sweet, delicious oranges and tangerines, the fruits of which were strewn with trees in the gardens. And it was so beautiful and fabulous - citrus trees strewn with fruits in early January, when frosty and snowy winters are in full swing in native Ukraine!
Morocco grows a lot of citrus fruits. We saw endless citrus orchards from train windows as we moved from city to city. Also, tangerine, orange and lemon trees adorn the city gardens and courtyards of riads. I love citruses.
Densely, brightly, almost everywhere, in every city we visited, thickets of bougainvillea, aloe, strelitzia, roses, daisies, Chernobrivtsy, and many other beautiful plants, the names of which I do not know, bloomed.
We arrived in Rabat late in the evening by train from Casablanca airport. Our hotel was in the modern part of the city, not in the medina. And we did not see anything remarkable on the way to the hotel. Tired after flights and transfers, we walked to the hotel, and grumbled why we came here. Like, it would be better to go to Europe. After checking in from the hotel room, I had no strength and desire to drag myself somewhere else. And we decided to have a bite of cheese, bought in the duty free of Charles de Gaulle. And drink a small bottle of sparkling brut bought there. As a result, in the morning the cheese was fed to local dogs, but we were able to drink a little brut then, diluted with juice. The cheese stank terribly, like trekking socks after a good week's hike. And the brut was so sour that even the juice did little to help. Once again we were convinced that we are not gourmets. We love sweet wines, and we don’t understand what the beauty of stinking cheeses is.
And as always, the morning turned out to be wiser and more positive in the evening. The Moroccan morning prepared so many wonderful discoveries for us.
The highlight of the trip was the acquaintance with the Atlantic Ocean in Rabat. We got out of the streets of the medina of Rabat, which we wandered into on the way from the hotel, and going down the hill along a good, but completely deserted road, we gradually began to approach a huge waving water column. The waves seemed to me just gigantic. It was so easy to breathe here, the air is simply healing. In a place where the waves are weaker, thanks to huge boulders, surfers rode.
On the ocean, somehow by itself, one meditated and contemplated. Waves running and crashing against giant boulders, rainbows that periodically appeared above the waves, the measured eternal sound of the ocean could be contemplated all day long.
Nevertheless, I had to overcome myself, break away from the contemplation of the ocean, and go as a tourist should, inspect the Kasbah of Udaya, which towered above the shore. Udaya is also very, very. It is so harmoniously fitting into the surrounding landscape, ancient architecture. From the observation decks of Udaya, we admired the confluence of the Bouregreg River with the ocean.

Photo report on Rabat
Remarkably, Rabat and Sale have been located on opposite banks of the Bou Regreg for many centuries. But just a few decades ago, a bridge was built connecting the two sister cities.
